Considered by many to be the greatest horror-comedy ever made! The legendary characters of Dracula, the Frankenstein Monster and the Wolf Man are portrayed with dignity and respect, while the laughs are supplied by Bud and Lou! The streamlined, foam rubber versions of Jack Pierce's classic makeup designs, by Bud Westmore, Jack Kevan and Emil La Vigne, are quite impressive! Nice cell animation of Dracula changing into a bat and back! This film has all the atmosphere of a classic horror movie, which effectively compliments the slapstick! At the core of the plot is a fierce confrontation between Dracula, who wants to transplant Lou's brain into the Monster's skull, and Lawrence Talbot (The Wolf Man), who, in his more rational, human state, endeavors to foil Dracula's plan! The film climaxes with Dracula and the Wolf Man at each other's throats, while the revived Monster stalks Bud and Lou! Bela Lugosi gives a wonderful performance, in his last screen appearance as Dracula! Lon Chaney's Wolf Man retains all the ferocious pathos of old, and Glenn Strange (the best of Karloff' s successors) gives his finest performance as the Monster, in the character's final bow in the original series! Vincent Price provides the voice of the Invisible Man for the closing gag!
