KING KONG (1933)

Still the eighth wonder of the world, KING KONG is one of the finest fantasy films of all time, and one of the cinema's most memorable visualizations of the "Beauty and the Beast" legend! A giant gorilla is captured on Skull Island and brought to New York, where it escapes and wreaks havoc! Willis O' Brien's stop-motion wizardry peaked with this film, and much of his personality is captured in Kong' s movements and expressions. The film's groundbreaking elements include some of the screen's first miniature and full-scale rear-projection sequences, and Max Steiner's brilliant landmark score! KING KONG is included in the Library of Congress' registry of film classics considered worthy of preservation.
